LATEST NUTRITION

Hello all,

Of late I have made the decision to do my best to take on a new diet with the goal of feeling healthier mentally and physically. It is a goal of mine to help balance hormones while gaining lean muscle, 6-pack etc. At the end of the day a change in physical appearance is what is most important to me. I know that is a tall order and I have been researching for quite some time now different diets and diet strategies and am prepared to follow a disciplined program.

The issue I am running into is everything seems to be contradictory; everyone seems to have their own strategy that works better than the last guy, but here’s the catch: “that former strategy is doing it completely wrong, in fact it is giving negative progress!”. These contradictory statements make the task of finding a practical diet plan nearly impossible for someone who has little to no experience with the intricacies of nutrition, such as myself. Rather than taking a risk and playing dietary Russian roulette, I figured I would go somewhere that I could have a conversation about what I actually need hence why I am making this post.

A bit of background about myself:

  • I am a 21 year old male

  • 5’10” 176 lbs

  • I lift for about an hour and a half each weekday, and have for about 2 years now

  • I do cardio in the form of biking at no particular interval, I plan on beginning to run for a half hour each day

  • I am in college full time so my “job” is very sedentary, though I do try to keep as active as possible

  • I am willing to make lifestyle changes in order to see results, and don’t expect anything to be instantaneous

All of that being said, the question I pose to this community is as follows:

Given the above information about me, based on knowledge or experience, is there a diet plan that you would recommend for someone in my situation, and people similar to me? Do you have any tips or guides I, or anyone reading this post, could follow to make my own diet plan? Is there any more information I can give to make answering this easier?

Thanks for your time and consideration!

P.S. The timing on this decision is terrible, my choice to make a lifestyle change has absolutely nothing to do with the new year, it just happened to line up that way.
