Reading dozens of articles, forum posts and other resources, a popular opinion seems to be that our intake of Omega 3 and 6 should be balanced (a ratio of between 1:1 and 1:4 seems most popular).
However reading other resources (sorry I don't have a link, just from memory), seems to suggest that reducing overall intake of Omega-6 should be the priority, not keeping the balance right.
What they are saying is, if you consumed 20g of Omega 6, then countered that by consuming 20g of Omega 3, then although the balance would be good, they quantity of omega 6 would be bad anyway.
So, what are your views on this?
Would it be better to generally keep to a low Omega 6 intake, or is only the balance important, regardless of the quantity?
Bonus question - would there be any harm in consistently consuming a higher amount of omega 3 compared to omega 6 on a daily basis?
